What the Strengthened ACQS Require on Cultural Safety
The Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards embed cultural safety throughout Standard 1 (The Person) and Standard 3 (Care and Services). Providers must demonstrate that:
- Care is delivered in a way that is responsive to each resident's cultural identity, language, and spiritual beliefs
- Residents from CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) backgrounds are not disadvantaged in accessing care or services

- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents receive care that is respectful of their cultural heritage and community connections
